Tuition Day FAQs
Q: Do you need any art experience?
A: No, absolutely not. Many of my students haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school. It’s my job to teach you and make sure you are happy with your painting.
Q: How many people will be at the tuition day?
A: There will be a maximum of 4 students on any one day. We are painting in my home and limiting it to 4 ensures we have enough space and I can give individual attention to each student.
Q: Can I have a one-to-one tuition day?
A: Yes, if you would like my full attention I offer 1:1 tuition. You can also book private tuition for just you and a friend or a group of friends. For prices see my booking page.
Q: I’d like to bring friends and make a party of the day; is that possible?
A: I take a maximum of 4 students for a tuition day. If you’d like to paint with more friends, then a Sky Painting Party could be right for you. Click here for details.
Q: Will we finish our painting and will it be dry enough to transport home?
A: Most students consider their paintings finished by the end of the day. If you haven’t finished my aim is that you will leave with the confidence and knowledge to continue with your painting at home. And yes, your work will be dry enough to transport home; acrylics dry very quickly.
Q: I’m travelling from overseas – how will I get my painting home?
A: You have choices, depending on the size of canvas you choose. We can package it up together at the end of the session to carry as over-sized baggage on the aeroplane; we could take it off the stretcher bars and roll it for easier transportation; we can arrange for a courier to get it home for you. Please chat to me for further details.
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: You will need to bring the canvas you are going to paint on, unless you have arranged to get it delivered to my house beforehand. As acrylics don’t wash out of clothes, you might also want to bring an apron, although I have some you can borrow. I will provide all other equipment and lunch.
Q: How long is the day?
A: We begin at 10am, break for lunch around 1pm and finish up around 3:30pm.
Q: I have dietary requirements, is that a problem?
A: No problem; I am happy to cater to dietary requirements – just please make sure you have given me notice ahead of the day.
Mini Painting Party FAQs
Q: Do you travel? I’d like to hold a painting party at my home.
A: This could be arranged – please contact me to discuss pricing and logistics.
Q: Can we bring our own booze?
A: Yes. I will provide enough cocktails for each person to have at least two, and I will have non-alcoholic mocktails on offer as well, but you are welcome to bring a bottle if you would like to. Please note that the session is 2.5 hours long and you will need to sort safe transport home!
Q: Can you cater for my dietary requirements?
A: Yes. Please let me know of any dietary requirements when booking.
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: Bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. Everything else is included in the price.
