Painting Care

Your painting will come ready-to-hang on your wall. Unframed, the paintings are not very heavy and might only require one nail in the wall – but please bear in mind what your wall is made of and use rawlplugs or other suitable fixtures for plasterboard.

Take care of your painting when it arrives and try not to lean it against anything on an angle for any period of time (to prevent warping or twisting). If you accidentally dent your painting then don’t panic! Canvas is very durable and most dents will pull out with this simple trick: spray the back of the canvas with water, or wipe with a wet cloth. Get the canvas quite damp and then leave it to dry. The dent should pull out.

The edges of your painting will be painted in acrylic and any scuffs or marks should wipe off if gently rubbed with a clean, damp cloth. This applies to the front of your painting too, but please contact me before trying to “clean” anything off the front of your painting and I can talk you through the best course of action.

Acrylic is UV resistant, so your painting will be safe in full sunlight. But be careful hanging it over a radiator that gets a lot of use, as the warmth could warp the wooden stretcher bars over time.

If you have any other questions about looking after your painting then please get in touch.
